“Hi, I am an addict named Sam” My clean date is February 28, 2017. This is not my first time trying to get clean. I am grateful I took the suggestion to move into sober living this time around. The structure and accountability at Ground Zero was vital for me in early recovery. I needed to be surrounded by people in recovery, going to meetings together, and having fun. I stayed at GZ for 14 months and made many close friends there. I am an active member in the Bay Area recovery community. If you’re on the fence about sober living-- give yourself a fighting chance and do it! I hope to see you at a meeting.
Hi- I'm an alcoholic and an addict named Robert Hooper IV, aka “Hoopdawg”! I live at the Fourth Dimension and my sobriety date is June 29, 2015. I once had over 10 years clean while working at a men's recovery house in Annapolis. I was hurt in a tree accident in 2014 and ended up drinking after my surgery and after the painkillers wore off. I really missed my sober friends when I drank. I knew coming to a sober house would help me again and it did. I love working with other addicts and alcoholics. It is a beautiful thing to see a struggling man or woman grow in recovery. Currently, I drive commercial vehicles and do excavation and tree work. To others, I would say to get a sponsor, maintain your meetings, be mature, love thy self, and share your love and your life with others.

My name is Mark, and my sobriety date is February 21, 2016. I lived in Last Resort for 13 months after completing a 28-day rehab program. The fellowship I became a part of in that house probably saved my life. The rules of the house provide appropriate structure for people in early sobriety, and those rules were always applied both consistently and humanely. I now work as an Addiction Counselor, and I regularly refer my clients to Harcum Homes.

My name is Ryan and I am an alcoholic and a drug addict. My sobriety date is September 26, 2013. After going through treatment several times, unable to stay sober, I realized I needed to take some suggestions. One of those suggestions was sober living. I lived at Fourth Dimension for 6 months and transferred to Last Resort for the last 9 months. In that time I learned how to live life and was introduced to an incredible network of people. I will always be grateful for the time that I spent in sober living.

My name is Austin and I’m an alcoholic. My sobriety date is October 10th, 2017. This is my first time in recovery and sober living. Towards the end of my stay in rehabilitation I decided to try Sober Living. Not knowing which sober living to choose, I picked the first one that had an open bed. After being there for 2 months, I decided it was not a good fit for me. I was looking for a place that reinforced structure and accountability, a place to help me grow as a person, and and to walk this journey called sobriety. After inquiring about houses in the Annapolis area, that met these requirements, I chose Last Resort. This was the best decision I could have made! I am close friends with the guys that live at Last Resort and it is because I gravitated towards their ambition and the peace that they have for their recovery. The connection with the guys, who have come through the doors at Last Resort, have been an amazing experience for me. We are a band of brothers. We hold each other accountable and we reinforce moving forward in our lives, by setting goals for recovery. It has made me a better person overall, and has been a great learning experience for me. If you are looking to get out of the grips of addiction and seriously stay sober, then give yourself a fighting chance and get into a recovery house. It helps build a regiment of healthy and effective habits that will help you stay clean and sober. You must have the will to be a better person. I recommend all men curious about sober living to inquire about Harcum Homes, LLC.
Sober living has been an integral part of my early recovery. It has provided me with affordable housing populated by other men with a similar recovery based mindset. These other residents also keep me accountable and their minds provide me with a valuable resource with which to bounce ideas off of. The house has been a good start in building my foundation for recovery by allowing me to hone my socialization skills which had withered from years of active addiction. Without this invaluable resource I would have had a much tougher road to travel in my recovery process. Sober living is a resource I would recommend to anyone looking to make a serious stab at recovery.

My name is Mike. I moved into Last Resort July 1, 2019, and wasn’t sure what to expect because this was my first time living in a recovery house. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life and the house played an enormous part in helping me on the path of recovery. It was nice to be living with people who were trying to better themselves. In addition, it helped me feel more comfortable about going to meetings because there was always someone willing to go with me. Two other great aspects of living at Last Resort was the level of accountability and how much respect each person had for another. Thanks so much for everything, I really don’t think I could have made it this far with out the foundation that the house provided.
