History: Ground Zero was founded on March 15, 2013, after two friends discovered a need for safe, structured, and affordable housing for men, with Substance-Use Disorders, in the Annapolis area. Andrew and Brianna, both having lived in Recovery Housing, understood the importance of supportive housing to ensure long-term recovery. As a result of having positive outcomes at Ground Zero in 2013, both Fourth Dimension and Last Resort were created. Sadly, we retired the Last Resort House on October 15, 2021.
Brianna Harcum
Brianna Harcum came to Maryland on January 11, 2006, looking for a fresh start. Upon arrival, she was provided free drug treatment and was eventually afforded the opportunity to attend college. Brianna graduated in 2013 with her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling and is currently a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) as well as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). As an ex-offender, and a person in long-term recovery, she is an advocate of second chances.
Andrew Riege
In 2009, Andrew Riege made a u-turn. After completing the Jude House, he came to Annapolis to continue his journey. He found it was beneficial to live in a recovery home during his transition back into society. At three years of continuous sobriety ,Riege described a void in the Annapolis area, for recovery housing. Andrew, having opened the second Oxford House, agreed to help Brianna open additional housing. A few years later, Andrew was given a second chance, to return to his profession. He is currently employed as a Union Elevator Mechanic at the Department of State. Andrew has since moved on to continue his career and affirms that a large part of his success is due to his early involvement in Harcum Homes LLC.

Andrew and Brianna became roommates in 2012 and by 2013, had become business partners. Despite Andrew moving on to other exciting ventures in 2016, he still remains an important part of Brianna's life and the Harcum Homes lifestyle. Mr. Andrew Riege will always be regarded as family.
